Currently the light sources of projector lamps include UHP, UHE and metal halide lamps.
UHE is usually produced by Panasonic and Philips.UHP stands for Philips bulb model,UPRD / UMVRD / NSH stand for Japan's USHIO bulb model,SHP stands for PHOENIX model,SHL stands for GE's bulb model and VIP is Osram's bulb model.Among these models,some are filled with metal halide,commonly known as metal halide bulbs;and more the others are filled with high-pressure mercury,known as ultra-high pressure mercury bulb.
UHE bulb is a class of ultra-high pressure mercury bulbs,more suitable for long-term use. Its price is relatively in mode rate.Currently the mid-range projectors are commonly used this kind bulb.UHE bulb is using the optical principle to filter out the infrared and dipatch cold light. So the heat is relatively little,can effectively reduce the projector power consumption. These ultra-high pressure mercury filling technology bulbs are usually called cold light bulbs.Their most prominent feature is the long life,generally can reach more than 3000 hours,after working hours up to 2000 hours, the brightness is almost no attenuation. For UHE bulbs it is not only the normal use of time twice as high as metal halide bulbs,but also this bulb performance curve is more smooth,more bright,more life time & attenuation not obvious.
UHP bulb(Philips Ultra-High Pressure mercury bulb) is with longer life hours, generally marked 6000 hours, the longest or even nominal 12000 hours.The cumulative UHP is a patented technology invented by Philips, which will be extinguished immediately when the lamp fails, and UHP bulbs can be produced not only at the same power consumption compared to UHE bulbs,but also can effectively inhibit the occurrence of flicker and the appearance of more compact,also less brightness attenuation, longer life.
UHP features are as follows:
1.UHP can stimulate the highest brightness;
2.UHP is the most efficient system, short pitch electrodes can be applied to smaller size panels;
3.UHP has the longest service life, light source life in the pre-cast applications up to 1000 to 6000 hours;
4.By the ballast generated by the pulse and the interaction between the light source, can effectively stabilize the electrode to inhibit the occurrence of flicker;
5.UHP has the most stable,the most perfect chromatography during the lighting.
